First we saw the butterflies and had a picnic lunch with our friends. Then we headed to the ice cream shop for a tour. We saw how ice cream and waffle cones were made and even walked inside the freezer.

Doc Burnsteins/Monarchs
I organized a school field trip to Doc Burnsteins and the Monarch Grove. There are many new families in our group and most of them have never been. Those who had were eager to go again.

Womens speaker
I visited Heather's church to eat dinner and listen to a guest speaker. I was persuaded into playing a racing game. My team won! I enjoyed a wonderful evening of fellowship with some very special ladies.

Birthdays
The boys in our house recently had birthdays. We had small family celebrations and plan to have a larger party later in the month.) Since their birthdays are so close together we let them open their presents all at once.
Kurtis helped make his cake. He really likes tortoises.

Waldorf Dolls
Our neighbor made dolls for both the girls. They're adorable! Here is Annika's doll in the little outfit I crocheted for her.
The doll the Naomi made for Heidi is also really cute. She reminds me of a Cali girl with her blonde highlights and sunkissed skin.
Naomi gave me a few patterns and Heidi was determined to start right away. It's a very ambitious project for an 11 year old. Heidi did as much as she could on her own. I helped her pin the head and understand a few of the directions. Most of it she did herself. When it came time to mold the face she took it next door so Naomi could assist.
Here she is with her finished doll. I think she's plans on posting a few more pictures on her blog.

Tide Pools
Took the kids to explore the tide pools. It was a beautiful day. We found lots of ocean creatures and even saw a few seals swimming in the water.
